King of Prussia, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction planned this weekend on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) for application of an epoxy overlay on the recently rehabilitated Wayne Junction Viaduct in Philadelphia has been rescheduled due to weather.
Motorists are advised of the following revised travel restrictions:
- Saturday, September 30, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM Sunday, October 1, a single lane closure will be in place on northbound U.S.1 between 9th Street and Fox Street; and
- Sunday, October 1, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, two lanes will be closed on southbound U.S.1 between 9th Street and Fox Street.
- Monday, October 2, and Tuesday, October 3, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, two lanes will be closed on southbound U.S. 1 between 9th Street and Fox Street; and
- Wednesday, October 4, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place on northbound U.S.1 between 9th Street and Fox Street.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of the substantially completed $95.5 million project to rehabilitate the Wayne Avenue Viaduct over the Nicetown neighborhood.
