King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge inspections are scheduled on Interstate I-76 and several other state highways in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, April 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on westbound I-76 at the U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) Interchange.
- Tuesday, April 9, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a moving right lane closure is scheduled on the westbound I-676 ramp to 8th Street.
- Tuesday, April 9, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, a moving right lane closure is scheduled on the westbound I-676 ramp to U.S. 30 West.
- Tuesday, April 9, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, a moving right lane closure is scheduled on the westbound I-676 ramp to Vine Street.
- Wednesday, April 10, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the I-76 and the Broad Street interchanges.
- Wednesday, April 10, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the Ninth Street and the Fox Street/Henry Avenue interchanges.
- Thursday, April 11, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the University Avenue and the Passyunk Avenue interchanges.
- Thursday, April 11, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the University Avenue and the South Street interchanges.
- Friday, April 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on 26th Street between the I-76 Interchange and Penrose Avenue.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
