PennDOT Announces Single-Lane Closures on Hubler Ridge Road

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced the start of drainage improvements on Route 1010 (Hubler Ridge Road) beneath the Interstate 80 overpass in Marion Township, Centre County, which will get underway Monday, August 14. The work is part of a larger project to replace four I-80 bridges.

Traffic control for the drainage improvements will consist of single-lane closures with flaggers in the roadway enforcing an alternating traffic pattern that will see drivers take turns passing through the work zone via the open lane. The contractor will also place concrete barriers along the right shoulder in preparation for a long-term single-lane closure that will go into effect later this month. PennDOT expects to install temporary traffic signals on Thursday, August 17 and set them to "flash" mode. They will become fully active Thursday, August 24, and begin providing traffic control for this lane closure.

Overall work on this project consists of concrete and asphalt paving on Interstate 80, Hubler Ridge, and Sand Ridge roads, milling and paving, drainage improvements, guide rail installation, pavement marking, and miscellaneous construction. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College, PA, is the contractor for this $22 million project that will continue through the 2026 construction season.
