King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction is scheduled at night next week on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive under a project to reconstruct, widen and improve U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships, Bucks County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Sunday, June 25, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, northbound U.S.1 will be reduced to a single lane between the Street Road and Penndel/Business U.S.1 interchanges for a traffic pattern change to accommodate the opening of a new ramp to replace the existing on-ramp to northbound U.S.1 at the Neshaminy Interchange; and
- Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 26, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, Rockhill Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Horizon Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard for overhead bridge construction.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.
PennDOT is reconstructing and widening U.S. 1, improving the interchanges, and constructing new bridges from the Turnpike Interchange in Bensalem Township to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 in Middletown Township under the $113.5 million Section RC2 contract.
