Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge repairs and sign installation are planned at night this week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) in Philadelphia under a $100.6 million project to rehabilitate the Wayne Junction Viaduct over the SEPTA tracks and Nicetown neighborhood in Philadelphia.
- Monday, July 8, from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM the following morning, lane closures are planned on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Interstate 76 and Fox Street for bridge repairs.
- Tuesday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 10, from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM the following morning, periodic lane closures and 15-minute full closures are planned on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between 16th Street and 9th Street for sign installation.
- Tuesday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 10, from 6:00 PM to 5:30 AM the following morning, periodic lane closures and 15-minute full closures are planned on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between 9th Street and 16th Street for sign installation.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
