Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that preparation work for a bridge rehabilitation project on Route 87 will begin next week in Hillsgrove Township, Sullivan County.
On Monday, April 21, 2025, the contractor, Nestlerode Contracting Inc., will begin tree removal and placing environmental control measures along Route 87 from approximately 0.5 miles north of Ogdonia Road (Route 3005) to approximately 1.8 miles south of Hoppestown Road (Route 4010).
Work is expected to take two weeks with minimal impact to the traveling public. When necessary, flaggers will be utilized with single lane conditions. Motorists should drive with caution in the area.
Bridge rehabilitation for the bridge that carries Route 87 over Dry Run in Hillsgrove Township will begin in early June of 2025. A two-lane temporary road will be constructed in mid-June to keep traffic flowing during construction of the bridge.
Nestlerode Contracting Inc. is the prime contractor for this $1,329,275 bridge rehabilitation project. Work includes building a temporary road, paving, removal of a portion of the existing bridge, superstructure replacement, waterproofing, guide rail upgrades and other miscellaneous construction. The project is expected to be completed in late fall of 2025, weather permitting.
