Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced the Snyder County Maintenance Organization, part of PennDOT’s Montoursville-based District 3, reached a significant safety milestone.
On January 15, 2025, the organization reached 1,000 days (2 years, 9 months) without a disabling injury. This currently is the longest active streak of its kind in District 3 which includes Bradford, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, and Union counties.
A disabling injury is any injury that results in an employee missing one or more days of work.
“This achievement is a substantial milestone that demonstrates the Snyder County maintenance team’s commitment to individual responsibility and teamwork to support safety when working in all, and sometimes hazardous, conditions,” said Eric High, PennDOT District 3 Executive. “Congratulations and thank you to all our Snyder County employees!”
Assistant District Executive for Maintenance Ken Bair shared, “Congratulations to the Snyder County team! Commitment to complete quality and productive projects begins with ensuring everyone is safe. This accomplishment is a demonstration of Snyder County’s commitment to serving the public well.”
County employees perform a wide range of road and bridge maintenance activities throughout the year. All work is done with a strict adherence to the concepts of safety.
