Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) reminded drivers that it will reopen all lanes of Interstate 99 between Port Matilda and Grays Woods at the close of business today to minimize traffic impacts ahead of Saturday's football matchup between the Nittany Lions and UMass at Beaver Stadium. Work on this project, which will extend the life of more than seven miles of concrete roadway in Huston and Worth townships in Centre County, will resume on Monday, October 16.
PennDOT will close the right (travel) lane of I-99 northbound and southbound on Monday morning. It expects work in the northbound lanes to wrap by midweek and continue until the weekend in the southbound lanes.
Swank Construction Company of New Kensington, PA, is the contractor for this $969,000 job. PennDOT anticipates project completion in late November. All work is weather dependent.
