Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that work to remove trees along Route 880 in Crawford Township, Clinton County, will start Monday, January 29. This work is part of a project to replace a bridge spanning Rauchtown Creek that will get underway this spring.
PennDOT expects the tree cutting work to take about a week. The contractor will complete the work during daylight hours. Drivers may encounter short delays as roadway flaggers enforce an alternating traffic pattern during these operations. Drivers should remain alert for flaggers and slow-moving or stopped traffic.
After the contractor removes the trees, utility companies will relocate their lines between February and March. PennDOT anticipates the utility companies completing that work under flagging conditions as well.
Starting in April, the contractor plans to begin demolishing the existing structure. They will complete this work using half-width phasing, meaning one lane will remain open for the project's duration. PennDOT will place temporary traffic signals on each side of the bridge during this phase. They will also issue an update before placing the signals.
LTT Trucking, LLC. of North Bend, PA, is the contractor for this $2.3 million project. All work is weather and schedule dependent.
