PennDOT District 3 District Office Safety Upgrade Project Continues, Office Remains Temporarily Closed

Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that while significant safety upgrades and renovations continue, the Engineering District 3 Office at 715 Jordan Avenue will remain closed to employees and public through August 2026.

The upgrades include removing the remaining asbestos in the building, installing a fire suppression system, installing energy efficient windows, and other facility improvements.

While the Engineering District 3 Office is physically closed to the public, employees assigned at this location continue to work at alternate locations and are responding to phone calls, e-mails, and off-site meetings. Hard copy mail also continues to be processed.

Work began on the project in January 2025 and due to the extensive work involved, the closure has been extended through August. Additional notification will be sent as buildings reopen.

The original brick building was built in the early 1950s and the addition was constructed in 1996.
