King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that stormwater improvements are planned next week on state highways in Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, under a $14.9 million project to upgrade stormwater management and facilities on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of travel restrictions on Tuesday, January 2, through Friday, January 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the following locations:
- Route 213 (Maple Avenue) between Woodbourne Road and Wheeler Way in Middletown Township, Bucks County for stormwater replacement;
- Route 452 (Market Street) between Beech Street and Washington Avenue in Upper Chichester Township, Delaware County for sawcutting;
- Wynnewood Road between Athens Avenue and Argyle Road in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County for sawcutting and stormwater replacement; and
- Church Road between S. Gulph Rd and Henderson Road in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County for sawcutting.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
Highway Materials, Inc of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
