King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge inspection is scheduled on Interstate 76 and several other state highways in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Thursday, January 4, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the 30th Street and Interstate 676 (Vine Street Expressway) interchanges;
- Thursday, January 4, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the 30th Street and South Street interchanges;
- Friday, January 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, an alternating left lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Tacony Street between Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street; and
- Tuesday, January 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, an alternating left lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) at the Fort Washington/Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange in Upper Dublin Township, Montgomery County for Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge inspection.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
These inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
