Minimal traffic impacts until later this spring
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a superstructure replacement project for the bridge that carries Route 11/15 (Enola Road) over Conodoguinet Creek in Wormleysburg Borough and East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County, is scheduled to begin in early March.
Weather permitting, this work will begin Monday, March 3. Traffic impacts initially will be minimal. However, the park and boat launch downstream of the bridge at Front Street will be closed from approximately March 3, 2025, to April 30, 2025, so a temporary access road can be constructed.
Later this spring traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction of Route 11/15. Northbound traffic on Route 11/15 will be shifted to the existing southbound bridge, including a temporary pedestrian walkway.
A press release will be issued prior to the implementation of this traffic pattern.
This project includes bridge deck replacement, pier rehabilitation and paving.
JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, is the contractor on this $5,247,171 project.
All work is expected to be completed by June 22, 2027.
Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
