Pavement Preservation Project Continues in South Central PA

Work this week on NB/SB I-83 in York County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a districtwide pavement preservation project in southcentral Pennsylvania is continuing this week on northbound and southbound Interstate 83 in York County.

Weather permitting, the contractor will perform diamond grinding on pavement patches from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM tonight, Tuesday, May 6, through Thursday night, May 8, on northbound and southbound I-83 from Exit 24 (Route 238/Emigsville) to Exit 32 (Route 382/Newberrytown).

There will be lane restrictions on I-83 during work hours.

This project consists of asphalt patching, crack sealing and other on call services for sinkhole repair and roadway repairs, along with other miscellaneous construction on various routes in the PennDOT District 8 region consisting of Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor on this $1,510,000 project. All work on this contract is expected to be completed by July 1, 2026.
