Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing seal coating operations on various state-owned roadways in Pine and Marshall townships, Allegheny County will occur Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1 weather permitting.
Single-lane alternating traffic will occur from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day on the following roadways:
- SR 4063 (Pearce Mill Road) between Brown Road and Warrendale Road in Pine Township
- SR 4069 (Mars Road) between Warrendale Road and Butler County in Pine Township
- SR 4068 (Warrendale Road) between Babcock Boulevard and Graham Road/Warrendale Bayne Road in Pine Township
- SR 4068 (Wallace Road) between Graham Road/Warrendale Bayne Road and Perry Highway in Pine Township
- SR 4052 (Graham Road) between Wallace Road and Pearce Mill Road in Pine Township
- SR 4052 (Warrendale Bayne Road) between Wallace Road/Bakerstown Road in Pine Township and Wheatland Road in Marshall Township
- SR 4061 (Franklin Road) between Warrendale Bayne Road and Butler County in Pine Township
- SR 4054 (Freeport Road) between Franklin Road in Pine Township and Sheraton Drive in Marshall Township
- SR 4073 (North Chapel Road) between Wexford Road and Perry Highway in Pine Township
PennDOT crews will conduct seal coating operations.
Each year, PennDOT’s maintenance crews perform numerous operations designed to maintain the integrity of the road surface and preserve its life. Seal coating, or more commonly referred to as “tar and chips”, is essential in preserving the life of a road surface because it prevents moisture from entering the pavement through surface cracks and oxidized asphalt surfaces.
