RSV Awareness Month (October)
October is Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Awareness Month. Every year, RSV impacts thousands of children and older adults in Pennsylvania. During the 2024-2025 season, there were almost 9,000 adult hospital admissions for RSV and almost 3,500 pediatric admissions.
There are immunizations and vaccines to protect older adults, pregnant people (to protect newborns), and high-risk infants. Everyone should be extra careful to keep their hands clean and to stay home if sick. Talk to your doctor or pediatrician today about preventing RSV.
