    Temporary Suspension of Rabies Laboratory Service

    The Bureau of Laboratories (BOL) has suspended rabies testing from January 1 through April 6, 2026 due to facility renovations.

    Human Exposure Rabies Testing

    All human exposure specimens should be submitted to the Bureau of Laboratories for testing.

    Pertinent Information Required

    A completed form must be submitted with each specimen.

    For private citizens calling for rabies results, please contact 1-877-PA-HEALTH (1-877-724-3258) or your local health department office.  The county health department will communicate the rabies testing results.
