    Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Dr. Debra Bogen on Today’s Vaccine Education Advisory Workgroup Meeting

    Governor Josh Shapiro’s Executive Order created the workgroup to provide clear, evidence-based recommendations that families can rely on, and trust, while making their own health care decisions.

    Harrisburg, PA – Today, Secretary of Health Dr. Debra Bogen released the following statement after the second meeting of Pennsylvania’s Vaccine Education Advisory Workgroup created through Governor Josh Shapiro’s Executive Order 2025-02, aimed at protecting Pennsylvanians’ health, their access to safe vaccines and their freedom to make informed health care decisions for themselves and their families:    

    “Building a healthier Pennsylvania requires a foundation of trust, which is the driving force behind Pennsylvania’s Vaccine Education Advisory Workgroup.

    “The Shapiro Administration is proud to convene this workgroup, a vital initiative established by Governor Shapiro to inform and safeguard our communities.

    “By bringing together a diverse panel of medical experts and community leaders, we are ensuring that every Pennsylvanian has access to the most accurate, evidence-based information regarding life-saving immunizations.

    “This group is actively working to identify and dismantle barriers to vaccine access while guiding tailored outreach to populations at higher risk for diseases like measles and hepatitis B.

    “Through this collaborative effort, we are prioritizing science and providing communities with information they can trust. Ultimately, this initiative will empower families across the Commonwealth to make informed health decisions that keep all residents safe and healthy.”
