Interstate 70 Ramp Closures Scheduled in Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing nightly ramp closures are scheduled for Interstate 70 westbound in Westmoreland County. 

There will be nightly ramp closures according to the following schedule:

Exit 43A (Fayette City/South Route 201) in Rostraver Township:

  • Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14
  • 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night
  • Detour:
    • Westbound I-70 off-ramp to Fayette City/South Route 201 (Exit 43A)
      • Westbound I-70 to Belle Vernon/Monessen (Exit 41)
      • Route 906 to eastbound I-70
      • Eastbound I-70 to Donora/Fayette City (Exit 43)
    • Route 201 on-ramp to westbound I-70
      • Eastbound I-70 to Smithon (Exit 49)
      • Route 3031 (Fitz Henry Road) to westbound I-70
      • Westbound I-70

Exit 42 (North Belle Vernon) in North Belle Vernon Borough:

  • Monday, August 18 through Thursday, August 21
  • 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night
  • Detour
    • Westbound I-70 on-ramp at North Belle Vernon (Exit 42)
      • Enter eastbound I-70 at North Belle Vernon (Exit 42)
      • Continue to Donora/Fayette City (Exit 43)
      • Take Route 201 north toward Donora
      • Re-enter westbound I-70 via the ramp just after crossing the Route 201 bridge over I-70
    • Westbound I-70 off-ramp at North Belle Vernon (Exit 42)
      • Continue past North Belle Vernon (Exit 42) to Belle Vernon/Monessen (Exit 41)
      • Turn left at the end of the ramp, then make an immediate left to enter eastbound I-70
      • Use North Belle Vernon (Exit 42)

Motorists should remain alert and use caution when traveling through the area.

Golden Triangle Construction Company will be conducting concrete pavement patching, drainage repair, and barrier replacement as part of a larger pavement preservation project on I-70 from the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway to Route 906 (Belle Vernon Monessen Road/Main Street).

With an infrastructure investment of $9.69 million, work is expected to continue through late fall, pending weather and operational conditions.
