Detour for Route 3007 (Goucher Street) in Lower Yoder Township and Johnstown, Cambria County, to Begin Monday, July 28

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists of a detour of Route 3007 (Goucher Street) in Lower Yoder Township and the City of Johnstown, Cambria County, beginning Monday, July 28, 2025.   

HRI, Inc., State College, Pa., is the contractor for the 1.5-mile, $3,016,909 project, which includes resurfacing, culvert preservation, and slide correction on Route 3007 (Goucher Street/D Street Extension/D Street) from T-377 (Westgate Drive) to Route 56 (Fairfield Avenue).

From July 28 through mid-October, a 6.5-mile detour will be in place to route traffic around a road closure between Esterville Road’s upper and lower intersections with Route 3007 (Goucher Street).

From the Route 3007 (D Street) side, the detour will follow Route 56 (Fairfield Avenue) west to Route 3005 (Saint Clair Road) to Route 271 (Menoher Boulevard) north to Route 3007 (Goucher Street).

From the Route 3007 (Goucher Street) side, the detour will follow Route 271 (Menoher Boulevard) south to Route 3005 (Saint Clair Road) to Route 56 Fairfield Avenue) east to Route 3007 (D Street).

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage.  

Additionally, PennDOT reminds motorists that as of June 5, 2025, the "Paul Miller's Law" is in effect. This law prohibits the use of hand-held devices while driving, even while stopped temporarily due to traffic, a red light, or other momentary delay. Violation of this law is punishable by way of summary citations issued by any Pennsylvania Law Enforcement officer. We strongly urge motorists to make safe choices, put phones out of reach and don’t text and drive.
