Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that both lanes of Interstate 80 eastbound are closed between Exit 178 (Route 220 / Lock Haven) in Clinton County and Exit 212B (Interstate 180 / Williamsport / Route 147 / Milton) in Northumberland County for emergency roadwork due to a crash that damaged the roadway at mile marker 191 in Clinton County.
A detour using Route 220 northbound and Interstate 180 eastbound is currently in place. Motorists should be alert, slow down, and anticipate delays in travel.
PennDOT’s regional traffic management center is supporting this operation by populating the information into 511PA and activating its variable message boards along the interstates and detour route. It expects to finish the repairs before nightfall and will issue an update after repairs are complete. All work is weather-dependent.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
