Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a roadway resurfacing project continues on North Front Street (Route 405) in Upper Augusta Township, Northumberland County.
On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, the contractor, New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., along with a sub-contractor, will begin work at the railroad underpass on North Front Street between Bridge Avenue (Route 405) in Upper Augusta Township and Susquehanna Avenue in Sunbury. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging as a temporary barrier is installed along the northbound shoulder between the hours of 3:30 AM and 6:00 AM.
Beginning at 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM daily, the project will continue behind the barrier which includes rehabilitation of existing retaining wall, and replacement of existing pedestrian railing and sidewalk through the railroad underpass. Motorists can expect a lane shift to maintain one lane of traffic in each direction through the work zone.
Sidewalk access will be maintained through the work zone. Work in this location is expected to be completed in late October, weather permitting.
New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $2.1 million roadway improvement project. Additional work includes sidewalk and railing upgrades at the railroad underpass on North Front Street in Upper Augusta Township. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in November 2025.
