    Road Closures Due to Flooding in PennDOT District 4

    July 19, 2025

    Dunmore, PA – Due to recent flooding events, the following roadways are closed. An estimated date of reopening is to be determined.

    • Route 4028 (Mooretown Road) in Luzerne County will be closed temporarily to perform emergency repairs on the bridge over Huntington Creek. The closure is just west of Green Valley Road with a signed detour in place utilizing Route 29 and Route 118.
    • Route 4013 (Mossville Road) in Luzerne County will be closed temporarily to perform emergency roadway repairs including an embankment slope failure. The road is closed to through traffic from Red Hill Road to Route 4015 (Bethel Hill Road). A signed detour route is in place utilizing Old Tioga Turnpike, Old County Road, Volanski Road and Bethel Hill Road.
    • Route 191 (Twin Rocks Road) in Wayne County will be closed temporarily to perform emergency repairs on the bridge over Butternut Creek. The closure is approximately one mile south of the Route 191 and Interstate 84 interchange. A signed detour route is in place utilizing Route 507 and Interstate 84.
    • Route 1037 (Steam Hollow Road) in Great Bend Township, Susquehanna County will be closed temporarily to perform emergency repairs on the bridge near the intersection of Liberty Park Road and Dubois Street.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
