The proposed project consists of the rehabilitation of Country Club Drive bridge which carries two lanes of Route 3002 (Country Club Drive) over Route 19 (Washington Road) in the Township of Upper St. Clair, Allegheny County. The bridge is currently closed due to the deteriorated condition of concrete noted during the recent bridge inspection. The project will remove and replace the existing concrete arch portion of the rigid frame bridge in order to reopen this bridge to traffic. The project will also include minor approach roadway work on Country Club Drive, asphalt milling and paving on Washington Road beneath the bridge, sidewalk replacement, guide rail upgrades, and pavement marking application. Construction is expected to begin in the Fall of 2025 and conclude in early 2026.
Detour
The current detour for Country Club Drive will remain in effect until construction has concluded in early 2026. The detour length is approximately 2.3 miles long utilizing McMurray Road and Old Washington Road.
Demolition and removal of the existing concrete arch will require a 3-day closure and detour of Route 19 (Washington Road) during an extended-weekend restriction (Thursday night to Monday morning). Separate car and truck detour routes are required. The car detour length is approximately 8.5 miles long utilizing Boyce Road, Mayview Road, Lesnett Road, and McLaughlin Run Road. The truck detour length is approximately 26 miles long utilizing Boyce Road, Washington Pike, Interstate 79, Interstate 376, Saw Mill Run Boulevard, and West Liberty Avenue. Otherwise, Washington Road will be restricted to two travel lanes (one in each direction) through the project area during construction of the project.
