PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

Week of September 22, 2025

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager David Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 22. All maintenance activities are dependent on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Pipe/box culvert installation:

  • Route 1067 (Laughner Road) in Fairfield Township
  • Route 3043 (Plumbers School Road) in South Huntingdon Township

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 819 (5 Point Road) in Salem Township
  • Route 1053 (Cameo Lane) in Hempfield Township
  • Route 4002 (Locust Valley Road) in Hempfield Township
  • Route 1030 (Roseytown Road) in Hempfield Township

Surface treatment:

  • Route 3047 (Robbins Station Road/Turner Valley Road) in North Huntingdon Township
  • Route 3051 (Ridge Road) in North Huntingdon Township
  • Route 3053 (Park Hill Road) in North Huntingdon Township
  • Route 2006 (Bear Rocks School Road) in Cook Township
  • Route 3059 (Turkeytown/Motordrome Road) in South Huntingdon Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, update existing signs, and address work orders on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
