    PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update

    Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 19. All maintenance activities are dependent on weather and operational conditions.

    Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

    Boom mowing:

    • Route 136 (Main Street) in Carroll, Nottingham, and Somerset townships and the City of Monongahela

    Brushing:

    • Route 136 (Main Street) in Carroll, Nottingham, and Somerset townships and the City of Monongahela
    • Route 3020 (Pikes Peak Road) in Amwell and Morris townships
    • Route 3031 (Grove Road) in Morris Township

    Crack sealing:

    • Route 40 (Maiden Street) in Amwell, North Bethlehem, and South Strabane townships

    Culvert cleaning/repair:

    • Route 844 (Washington Pike) in Canton, Hopewell, and Independence townships
    • Route 3019 (Beham Ridge Road) in Donegal and West Finley townships

    Slide repair:

    Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county.

    PennDOT has a toll-free number – 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623) – for residents to report road maintenance concerns and locations of dead deer on state highways.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
