PennDOT’s Greene County Maintenance Update

Week of May 19, 2025

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Greene County Maintenance Manager Dale Baird has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 19. All maintenance activities are dependent on weather and operational conditions.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 3001 (Aleppo Road) over Coon Creek in Aleppo Township
    • Between Route 3001 (Windy Gap Road) and Route 3012 (Green Valley Road)
    • Detour:
      • Route 3001 (Aleppo Road)
      • Route 3001 (Windy Gap Road)
      • Route 3003 (Riggle Road)
      • Route 3012 (Green Valley Road)

Inlet repair:

  • Route 2003 (Buckeye Road) in Perry Township

Litter and debris removal:

  • Interstate 79 in Franklin, Perry, Washington, and Whiteley townships
  • Various routes countywide

Patching:

  • Route 18 (Golden Oaks Road) in Freeport Township
  • Route 3008 (Jollytown Road) in Gilmore Township

Shoulder backup:

  • Route 3008 (Jollytown Road) in Gilmore Township

Spray patching:

  • Various routes countywide 

Surface treatment:

  • Route 18 (Golden Oaks Road) in Freeport and Jackson townships
  • Route 3001 (Aleppo Road/Windy Gap Road) in Aleppo, Richhill, and Springhill townships
  • Route 3003 (Riggle Road) in Aleppo Township
  • Route 3012 (Greene Valley Road) in Aleppo Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, as well as by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
