Project Overview

County: Bucks County
Municipality: Haycock Township
State Route: 4075
Local Name: Stony Garden Road
Project Type: Culvert Replacement
MPMS Number: 96069
Last Updated: July 2025

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is replacing the bridge that carries Stony Garden Road over Kimples (Dimple) Creek in Haycock Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The existing bridge is a 16’ long single-span, rolled steel I-beam bridge constructed in 1937. The structure is in poor condition and posted with 15 tons, except for combinations with 21-ton weight restrictions.

The proposed scope of work includes the construction of a precast concrete box culvert with a PA 3-rail bridge barrier to replace the existing bridge. The approach roadway will be replaced at full depth, and guide rails will be replaced by current standards. The project also includes the installation of scour protection measures.

All vehicles will be detoured for the construction of this project. The detour will be approximately 9.7 miles in length and will use Deerwood Lane, Route 563 (Mountain View Drive), and Route 412 (Durham Road).
