Dunmore, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to an online plans display regarding the Route 6 bridge project. This project is located over Sawkill Creek in Dingman and Milford Townships, approximately four miles northwest of the Borough of Milford.
The purpose of this project is to address structural deficiencies of the bridge and provide continued safe and efficient crossing at this location.
The project consists of replacing of existing structure with a precast concrete arch culvert. The new culvert with be placed in the same location as the existing structure and will allow for two 12-foot travel lanes, one eight-foot shoulder, and one 10-foot shoulder.
The bridge will remain open with a single lane that will be controlled with temporary traffic signals during construction. During construction the entrance to Pinebrook Road will be closed.
The project is currently in design and construction work is anticipated to take place in the 2027 construction season.
A digital version of the information will be available to view online until July 10, 2025.

The purpose of the plans display is to introduce the project and receive public input regarding any questions or concerns with the project. It is also an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the project’s potential effect upon Cultural Resources pursuant to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation’s 36 CFR Part 800 regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
