    Paving Begins Next Week on Route 42 in Locust Township, Columbia County

    Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a roadway maintenance and paving project will begin next week on Route 42 in Locust Township, Columbia County.

    Shoulder Work

    Beginning Tuesday, September 2, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will be replacing shoulders on Route 42 in both directions between Rhodstown Road (T-321) and Aristes Ringtown Road (Route 2006). Motorists should expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed. Work will be performed during daylight hours. Shoulder work is anticipated to be completed on Friday, September 5, weather permitting.

    Paving

    Beginning on Tuesday, September 2, a PennDOT paving crew will begin paving Route 42 between Numidia and Aristes. Work will begin south of Numidia and continue south to Aristes. Motorists should expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed. Work will be performed during daylight hours. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed on Friday, September 12.

    Motorists should be alert, slow down, watch for stopped or slow-moving vehicles, and drive with caution through the work zone.
