Detour on River Road in Clearfield Lifted, Project to Wrap Next Week

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Route 1001 (River Road) at the site of the RJ Corman Railroad Bridge Replacement Project reopened last night. Flaggers will be in the roadway next week as work on the project to enhance safety for motorists by improving the vertical clearance between the roadway and the railroad bridge draws to a close.

The contractor will complete milling, paving, and pavement marking the week of Labor Day. Crews will not work on Monday, September 1, in observation of the holiday, but they will return to the site on September 2. PennDOT anticipates the contractor will complete the project by the end of the week. All schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Work on this project includes repairs to the abutments, improving vertical clearance, and other miscellaneous construction. Gregori Construction Inc., of Sarver, PA, is the contractor on this $5.5 million job. PennDOT anticipates completion by early September. All work is weather-dependent.
