Drivers should be alert for slow or stopped traffic as paving work gets underway on Route 6 in Vernon Township, Crawford County.
Work is expected to be focused on the portion of roadway from near the roundabout of Routes 6, 19, 98 and 322 to the entrance of Walmart on May 29 and 30, 2025, weather permitting.
Motorists should anticipate active work zones in that area during daylight hours, including lane restrictions and traffic delays.
The paving is being done as part of a project to improve 6.4 miles of Route 6 in Vernon and Sadsbury townships and Conneaut Lake Borough in Crawford County, including bridge repairs, traffic pattern updates and upgraded drainage and guiderail.
The project expected to be completed in August 2025, weather permitting.
The contractor is Lindy Paving, Inc of PA, of New Galilee. The contract cost is $5,184,024.53, which will be paid entirely with state funds.
This year PennDOT’s Northwest Region expects to work on more than 100 projects. To see a full listing of all the anticipated work, check out the 2025 Construction Book located under the Partner Resources section at www.penndot.pa.gov/District1.
PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
