The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to expect minor delays for a paving project on U.S. Route 22 eastbound from the Cambria County line (Gallitzin Exit) to Route 764 in Allegheny Township, Blair County, from Monday, Sept. 15 to Friday, September 26, 2025.
The contractor will be paving and line painting, as well as completing shoulder work, as part of the resurfacing project on U.S. Route 22 eastbound.
The short-term lane closures, used as needed throughout the construction season to control traffic on both U.S. Route 22 eastbound and Route 764 near the bridge-overpass carrying U.S. Route 22, will continue through September 26.
The 6.8-mile, $4,278,125.00 project, being completed by contractor HRI, Inc., of State College, Pa., includes bituminous paving, guide rail upgrades, drainage replacement, line markings, pipe/inlet cleaning, flushing, substructure repairs, painting, and other miscellaneous construction, with an anticipated completion date of September 2025.
As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.
