UPDATE: 7-31-25 Relocaiton of Water and Sewer Lines also to start August 11

Minor Delays Expected on Route 305 (Main Street) Over Dry Run Bridge in Huntingdon County, beginning August 11  

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to expect minor delays on Route 305 (Main Street) over Dry Run Bridge in between Borough and Porter Township, Huntingdon County, beginning Monday, August 11, 2025.   

Crews will be relocating water and sewer lines,  initiating drainage upgrades, and trimming trees along Route 305 (Main Street) in anticipation of the Route 305 Dry Run bridge replacement project near the road’s intersection with Route 4005 (Pike Street/Alexander Pike road). 

Cottle's Asphalt Maintenance Inc., Everett, Pa., is the lead contractor for the $2,150,790.69 project, which includes a bridge replacement over Derry Run near the intersection of Route 4005 (Pike Street) in Porter Township, guide rail upgrades, approach paving, drainage upgrades, and resurfacing on Route 305 from U.S. 22 to Route 4004 (Main Street) in Porter Township and Alexandria Borough.    

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.         

Additionally, PennDOT reminds motorists that as of June 5, 2025, the "Paul Miller's Law" is in effect. This law prohibits the use of hand-held devices while driving, even while stopped temporarily due to traffic, a red light, or other momentary delay. Violation of this law is punishable by way of summary citations issued by any Pennsylvania Law Enforcement officer. We strongly urge motorists to make safe choices, put phones out of reach and don’t text and drive.
