CANCELLED: May 13 Public Meeting in Somerset County

Meeting for Route 2001 (Oak Dale Road) Bridge Replacement in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County, Scheduled for Today has been Cancelled Due to Severe Weather, Flooding

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has cancelled today’s public meeting and plans display for the Route 2001 (Oak Dale Road) Bridge Replacement over Laurel Creek, Elk Lick Township, Somerset County, due to extensive flooding and road closures in the area.                      

The meeting was slated to begin at 5:30 PM at the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department Banquet Hall in Salisbury. In the interest of safety, PennDOT will reschedule the meeting and plans display for late May or early June.

The project will involve the replacement of the existing steel I-beam bridge with a new precast concrete box culvert, minimal approach roadway work, and a detour to direct traffic around the project site. The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed project.
