Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that ramp closures are planned for tonight (Thursday) and Friday night at the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, for paving. Nighttime lane restrictions on Route 30 will continue.
Weather permitting, the eastbound Route 30 off-ramp to Centerville Road and the on-ramp from Centerville Road to eastbound Route 30 will be closed from 8:00 PM Thursday, June 12, to 6:00 AM Friday, June 13.
Eastbound Route 30 traffic wishing to exit at Centerville Road should continue east to the Route 741 (Rohrerstown Road) Exit, then return west to exit at Centerville Road. Centerville Road traffic wishing to travel east on Route 30 should take westbound Route 30 to the Mountville Exit then head east on Route 30.
The westbound Route 30 off-ramp to Centerville Road and the Centerville Road on-ramp to westbound Route 30 will be closed from 8:00 PM Friday, June 13, to 6:00 AM Saturday, June 14. Westbound Route 30 traffic wishing to exit at Centerville Road should continue west to the Mountville Exit and then return east on Route 30 to Centerville Road. Centerville Road traffic wishing to travel west on Route 30 should take eastbound Route 30 to the Route 741 Exit, then head west on Route 30.
Motorists are reminded nighttime lane restrictions will continue from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM on eastbound and westbound Route 30.
These restrictions are being implemented so the contractor can pave the eastbound and westbound right lanes and shoulders and ramp tie-ins.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes as delays are expected.
Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction.
The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road. The project is primarily located in East Hempfield Township, though the section from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue is in Manor Township.
JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed in August of 2025.
