Postponed Due to Weather: Work Scheduled for Next Two Weeks on Route 30 Bridge over Route 15 Near Gettysburg

Lane restrictions planned for this week on Route 15 will also be rescheduled

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the work expected to begin this week on the Route 30 bridge spanning Route 15 near Gettysburg in Adams County has been postponed due to the forecast for rain.

Additionally, lane restrictions planned for this week on Route 15 in the Gettysburg area have also been postponed.

The bridge work, which includes milling, deck repairs and paving, is expected to take about two weeks to complete and will require long-term lane restrictions in both directions of Route 30.

Restrictions on Route 15 will allow new traffic counter loop sensors to be installed.

This work is tentatively expected to begin next week. An updated press release will be issued when it is rescheduled.

All work is weather dependent.

This work is part of a 14.8-mile pavement preservation project that includes diamond grinding, milling and overlaying ramps and shoulders, guide rail replacement, pipe replacement, and other miscellaneous activities on Route 15 in Freedom, Cumberland, Mounty Joy and Straban townships, Adams County.

Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor on this $ 8,318,599 project.
