Concrete Patching Scheduled on I-83 in York County

Work is part of concrete repair project that also includes work on I-81 in Franklin and Dauphin counties

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that concrete patching is scheduled to begin Sunday, August 3, on Interstate 83 between Exit 32 (Route 382/Newberrytown) and Exit 39 (Route 114/Lewisberry Road) in York County.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday through Thursday nights. There will be lane restrictions in place during work hours.

Travelers should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

Work on this section of roadway is expected to be completed by mid-October, after which the contractor will move to Interstate 81 in Dauphin County to perform line painting and miscellaneous concrete work.

This work is part of a nearly 20-mile concrete repair project on Interstate 81 in Franklin and Dauphin counties, and on Interstate 83 in York County.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, is the contractor on this $2,776,703 project. All work is expected to be completed by late November of 2025.
