King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations will occur next week on several state highways in Philadelphia, Bucks, and Montgomery counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway across the five-county region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Philadelphia
- Monday, September 15, through Wednesday, September 17, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Rising Sun Avenue between Cottman Avenue (Route 73) and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) for paving.
- Monday, September 15, through Friday, September 19, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Moyamensing Avenue/Penrose Avenue (Route 291) between Broad Street (Route 611) and the George C. Platt Memorial Bridge for milling.
- Monday, September 15, through Friday, September 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Oregon Avenue between Broad Street (Route 611) and Columbus Boulevard for inlet and manhole repair.
- Tuesday, September 16, through Friday, September 19, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Oregon Avenue between Broad Street (Route 611) and Columbus Boulevard for paving.
Bucks County
- Monday, September 15, through Friday, September 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Fallsington Tullytown Road between Low Lane and New Falls Road in Falls Township and Tullytown Borough for milling, paving and utility construction.
- Monday, September 15, through Friday, September 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Edgely Road between Cobalt Ridge Drive and U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) in Bristol and Middletown townships for paving and utility construction.
- Monday, September 15, through Friday, September 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Penn Valley Road/hood Boulevard between Old Bristol Pike and Oxford Valley Road in Bristol and Falls townships for milling, paving and utility construction.
Montgomery County
- Monday, September 15, through Friday, October 31, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Route 63 (Main Street) between Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) and U.S. 202 in Lansdale Borough and Towamencin and Montgomery townships for milling and paving.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
