Dunmore, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Route 1037, adjacent to the intersection of Liberty Park Road and Dubious St in Great Bend, Susquehanna County, has reopened after severe flooding on July 14 damaged the bridge that carries Route 1037 over a tributary to Dubuis Creek.
Following an inspection, PennDOT closed the bridge and began repairs, which concluded today. Renovations were completed over a week ahead of PennDOT’s estimated August 1st deadline.
“The Shapiro Administration’s focus following storm events and emergencies is to safely restore travel on our roadways as quickly as possible,” PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll said. “Our roads and bridges connect Pennsylvanians to their communities and keep their economies moving, so we take this responsibility very seriously.”
While the roadway has been safely reopened to traffic, additional work will be completed in the next week.
