Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a roadway resurfacing project is set to begin on Route 11 in Snyder and Union counties and South Second Street in the City of Sunbury in Northumberland County.
Route 11 in Union and Snyder Counties
- Starting on Monday, August 4, 2025, the contractor, New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. will begin work on Route 11 between the Barry King Bridge approach in Union Township, Union County and just south of County Line Road in Monroe Township, Snyder County.
- Work includes application of a High Friction Surface Treatment and line painting. Motorists can expect a single lane in each direction where work is being performed. Work will be performed between the hours of 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
City of Sunbury, Northumberland County
- Beginning Tuesday, August 5, 2025, the contractor will begin a roadway resurfacing and drainage upgrade project on South Second Street between South Front Street (Route 147) and South River Street in the City of Sunbury, Northumberland County.
- Work includes drainage upgrades, construction of ADA curbs, mill and resurface, and line painting.
- Motorists can expect a single lane with flagging where work is being performed.
- Access to local businesses will be maintained.
- Work will be performed between the hours of 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $2.1 million roadway improvement project. Additional work includes sidewalk and railing upgrades at the railroad underpass on North Front Street in Upper Augusta Township. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in November 2025.
