Paving Project Begins Next Week on Route 45 in Montour County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a paving project will take place next week on Purple Heart Highway (Route 45) and the Liberty Valley Road (Route 642) intersection in Liberty Township, Montour County.

Starting on Monday, July 28, 2025, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) department force paving crew will mill and pave Purple Heart Highway between Liberty Valley Road and the Northumberland County line and the Liberty Valley Road/Purple Heart Highway intersection. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed. Work will be performed during daylight hours.

Work on this project is anticipated to be completed on Friday, August 8, 2025, weather permitting. Motorists should be alert, slow down, and expect delays.
