Gas Main Upgrade Begins Next Week in the City of Sunbury, Northumberland County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a gas main upgrade project is planned to begin next week in the City of Sunbury, Northumberland County.

Starting on Monday, May 19, 2025, a UGI contractor will begin work on South Second Street and South Front Street. Motorists can anticipate lane restrictions with flagging and parking restrictions where work is being performed. Work will be performed Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Motorists exiting the Veterans Memorial Bridge (Route 61) onto South Second Street should use caution and watch for slow moving traffic. Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in late June 2025, weather permitting.
