PennDOT’s Greene County Maintenance Update

Week of September 15, 2025

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Greene County Maintenance Manager Dale Baird has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 15. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Base repair:

  • Interstate 79 in Washington Township
    • Northbound single-lane restriction (between mile marker 17 and 18)

Boom mowing:

  • 4005 (Poland Run Road) in Richhill Township
  • Various routes in Greene County

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 2001(Rudolph Run Road) in Perry Township
  • Between Strawn Hill Road and Hoy Run Road
    • Detour:
      • Route 2001 (Rudolph Run Road)
      • Route 2018 (Kirby Road)
      • Route 218 (Smith Creek Road)

Inlet cleaning:

  • Various routes in Greene County

Pipe repair:

  • Route 18 (Browns Creek Road) in Washington Township

Shoulder stabilization:

  • Route 3008 (Jollytown Road) in Gilmore Township

Slide repair:

  • Route 4029 (WW Railroad Road) in Washington Township
    • Between Petit Road and Dillie Road
      • Detour:
        • Route 4029 (WW Railroad Road)
        • Route 4025 (Iams Station Road)
        • Route 18 (Browns Creek Road)
        • Route 4029 (WW Railroad Road)

Spray patching:

  • Various routes in Greene County

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
