Route 1014 Torrance Road Bridge Preservation Begins Tomorrow in Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing a scheduled single-lane restriction on Route 1014 (Torrance Road) between Route 217 (Blairsville Road/Walnut Street) and Cannery Road in Derry Township, Westmoreland County, beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8.

Anticipated to be completed by early 2026, crews from Swank Construction Company will conduct preservation on the bridge that carries Torrance Road over McGee Run – an infrastructure investment of $1.1 million.

The scope of work includes concrete bridge deck repairs, the installation of a waterproofing membrane, the construction of an asphalt overlay, pavement markings, and guide rail.

The bridge will remain open throughout construction. Portable temporary traffic control signals and other delineations will be used to maintain and direct traffic flow. All work depends on weather and operations.

Allow extra travel time and navigate work zones with caution. Safety is a shared responsibility.
