    PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

    Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 7. All maintenance activities are dependent on weather and operations.

    Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

    Ditching:

    • Route 3035 (Barren Run Road) in South Huntingdon Township
    • Route 3089 (Water Street) in East Huntingdon Township

    Pipe installation:

    • Route 982 (Kecksburg Road) in Mount Pleasant Township
    • Route 1067 (Laughner Road) in Fairfield Township
    • Route 2015 (Bailey Farm Road) in Unity Township

    Pipe replacement:

    • Route 1043 (Pandora Road) in Derry Township
    • Route 3071 (Arona Road) in Hempfield Township

    Slide repair:

    • Route 1026 (Donohoe Road) in Hempfield Township
    • Route 2015 (Bailey Farm Road) in Unity Township

    Shoulder stabilization:

    • Route 3035 (Barren Run Road) in South Huntingdon Township

    Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, update existing signs, and address work orders on various state routes throughout the county.

    PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
