Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 7. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.
Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Bridge work:
- Route 2003 (Wharton Furnace Road) in Wharton Township
- Between Greenhouse Road and Fayette Springs Road
- Posted Detour:

Brushing:
- Various routes in Fayette County
Ditch cleaning:
- Route 1050 (Buchanan Road) in Saltlick Township
- Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) in Bullskin and Connellsville townships
Patching:
- Various routes in Fayette County
Shoulder cutting:
- Route 4005 (New Hill Road/Grindstone Road) in Jefferson and Redstone townships
- Route 4011 (Laureldale Road) in Jefferson Township
- Route 4036 (Central School Road) in Jefferson Township
Shoulder stabilization:
- Route 3007 (Rubles Mill Road) in Georges Township
- Route 3015 (Collier Road) in Georges Township
- Various routes in Fayette County
Sign upgrading:

Sweeping:
- Route 653 (Jim Mountain Road) in Springfield Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
