Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 12. All maintenance activities are dependent on weather and operational conditions.
Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Base repair:
- Route 3071 (Arona Road) in Hempfield Township
Cross pipe installation:
- Route 3077 (Penn Adamsburg Road) in Hempfield Township
- Road closed between Gratz Street and Julie Dean Lane
- Detour:
- Route 4008 (Penn High Park Road/Baughman Avenue/Pennsylvania Boulevard)
- Route 30 (Lincoln Highway)
- Route 3077 (Edna Road/Penn Adamsburg Road)
- Detour:

Edge paving:
- Route 31 (Summit Road) in Donegal Township
- Route 3017 (Nicholls Hill Road) in Rostraver Township
- Route 3004 (Hawkeye Road) in East Huntingdon Township
- Route 3089 (Water Street) in East Huntingdon Township
Patching:
- Route 30 in Latrobe and Derry townships
- Route 136 (West Newton Road) in Rostraver Township
- Route 286 in Loyalhanna and Washington townships
Pipe installation:
- Route 982 in Kecksburg, Mount Pleasant Township
- Route 1067 (Laughner Road) in Fairfield Township
Runaway truck ramp maintenance:
- Route 9301 (Truck Escape Ramp Road) in Ligonier Township
- Route 9303 (Truck Escape Ramp Road) in Bullskin Township
Shoulder cutting:
- Various routes in East Huntingdon and South Huntingdon townships
Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county.
