Bridge Bearing Preservation Begins Monday in Washington County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing single-lane restrictions on Interstate 70 between Exit 11 (Route 221) and Exit 15 (Route 40) in Buffalo Township, Washington County, weather permitting. 

The restrictions will be in place beginning Monday, August 25 to allow crews to perform bridge bearing preservation work on Route 3011 (Mounts Road), which crosses over I- 70.

I-70 single-lane restrictions:

  • Monday, August 25 through Friday, September 5
  • Nightly (weekdays only), 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM
  • Eastbound and westbound passing lanes of I-70
  • No work will take place on Labor Day, Monday, September 1

The work is being completed by Allison Park Contractors, Inc., which is retrofitting rocker bearings at multiple sites throughout the district. This effort is part of a larger infrastructure improvement project with a $745,000 infrastructure investment.
