PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update

Week of December 9, 2024

Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of December 9. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Boom mowing:

  • Route 2034 (Sunset Drive) in West Pike Run Township
  • Route 2071 (Richeyville Road) in West Pike Run Township

Brushing:

  • Route 2034 (Sunset Drive) in West Pike Run Township
  • Route 2071 (Richeyville Road) in West Pike Run Township

Crack sealing:

  • Route 844 (Washington Pike) in Canton Township and the City of Washington
  • Route 4037 (Fort Cherry Road) in Mount Pleasant Township

Inlet cleaning and repairs:

  • Interstate 70 in Buffalo, Canton, Donegal, North Franklin, and South Strabane townships and the City of Washington

Rock lining:

  • Route 1020 (Taylor Run Road) in Carroll Township

Patching:

  • I-70 in Buffalo, Canton, Donegal, and North Franklin townships

Pipe replacement:

  • Route 1020 (Taylor Run Road) in Carroll Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts
